Earthworks for the New Gas Pipeline Artere du Santerre

The earthworks and pipe laying for the new gas pipeline Artere du Santerre, which traverses the departments of Somme and Oise just north of Paris, have been entrusted to De Romein as a partner of the main contractor. This 33-kilometer-long pipeline serves to reinforce the GTRgaz network, ensuring the stability of gas supply in northern France.

About the Artére de Santerre Gas Pipeline

This 33-kilometer project connects the junction in Ressons sur Matz to the regional pipelines in the north at Chilly. The pipeline runs parallel to the A1 motorway between Lille and Paris.

To protect the soil, a total of 20 kilometers of rented track was laid out in two phases.

Execution of the Work

We managed the complete preparation of the route, including the construction of crossings and access roads, as well as the removal of topsoil. Additionally, we were responsible for digging and refilling the trench, restoring roads, and fully reinstating the route along with the surrounding area to its original condition.

Furthermore, we installed and subsequently removed a total of 20,000 meters of rented track in two phases over the southern section to minimize the impact on the soil during the pipeline installation.

De Romein also handled the transportation of the pipes, including moving them from the pipe depot to the work site.

Why Did the Client Choose De Romein?

The main contractor awarded us the work as a strategic partner based on our successful collaboration on the Dorsales project. In addition to a favorable price-quality ratio and our specialized experience, knowledge, and skills, it was also highly important to the client that we are a flexible organization with short lines of communication. We say what we do and do what we say.
