Working visit by the mayor and aldermen to De Romein Group
On Tuesday, October 14, the mayor and aldermen of the municipality of Veendam paid a working visit to De Romein Group. During this visit, those present were given an explanation of the company's activities and a tour of the head office on Industrieweg in Veendam.
With a workforce of approximately 600 employees, mainly from the region, De Romein Group is an important employer and training partner in the northern Netherlands. Through its internal Romein Academy, the company actively invests in the development of knowledge, craftsmanship, and continuity within the organization.
During the working visit, the council was welcomed by the management team: Robin Meijer (CEO), Wilko Koop (Managing Director), Harm Jan Haan (COO), and Ina Burema (CFO). They gave a presentation on the strategy, activities, and international position of De Romein Group, followed by a tour of the workshop and facilities.
Mayor Annelies Pleyte expressed her appreciation for the significance of De Romein Group within the region: “De Romein Group is an important employer and an impressive example of entrepreneurship from Veendam that has built up a strong position, both nationally and internationally. We appreciate the warm welcome and the openness with which the company explained its activities.”
